Program Overview
The Animal Care Fellows Program is an application-based volunteer opportunity for students and aspiring veterinary professionals who want to gain practical experience while supporting the health and wellness of Fairytale Farm’s rescued animals. Volunteers contribute to grooming, health checks, behavior observation, recordkeeping, and overall animal care.
Program Levels
1. Junior Fellows – By Invite Only
For younger volunteers who demonstrate maturity and interest in animal care
Participate in supervised sessions focusing on basic care, observation, and learning
Mentorship from Fellows and staff
2. Animal Care Fellows (Core Program)
Minimum commitment: 1 shift per month
Activities include:
Ideal for vet or vet tech students, or anyone pursuing a career in animal care
Application required
3. Internship-Level Fellows
1–2 positions per semester
Responsibilities:
Lead sessions and coordinate volunteer schedules
Mentor Fellows & Junior Fellows
Ensure consistent recordkeeping and animal care standards
